About The Studio
Rocktown Cycle Studio is a great way to gain or maintain fitness, especially on those days with less than awesome weather. Our studio is set up with Wahoo Kickr Snap smart trainers which allow you to use your own bike indoors. Compared to basic resistance trainers "smart" trainers will adjust the resistance throughout the ride based on the workout selected. You just keep the pedals spinning. We utilize KICKR Studio software to connect the entire group with a variety of training rides. These trainers are also compatible with Zwift, Trainer Road, and Fulgaz through Bluetooth/Ant+ phones, tablets, and computers.
How is indoor cycling studio different than “Spin” class?
By utilizing trainers and software we create workouts that are science based to give great results. At the end of the workout you will be emailed a workout report that includes calories burned and sensor data from heart rate and cadence sensors if you have them. The file attached to your email report can be uploaded to Strava or other similar apps to share your ride with your friends.
Spin bikes are not the same as your bike. By getting to ride your bike in our studio you have the right bars, seat, and pedals. This means the reach and seat height won't change and you don't have to set them every time you come to class. The bike fit is important in reducing the chance of injury.
How are the workouts custom tailored to me?
During your first class the instructor will help you find the proper level. Based on individual goals, that level may stay the same or increase throughout the season.
