Warm-ups: Course open for pre-riding at 7:45 am & after each race up to 5 min prior to next race. You may also warm up on the paved Cross-County Trail, parallel to the park road, and on gravel roads in the park. Do not ride on any ballfields.
Call-ups: Sign in opens at 7:15 am & closes 30 minutes before each event. Report to start staging 10 minutes before race start. All racers staged sequentially by race number. Call-ups for Men's 5, Men's 4/5, and Women's 4: order of Registration. Junior races: Sportif Series Standings, then CrossResults.com points, then Registration order. All other races: 1st row, top 8 Sportif Cross Cup Series standings; 2nd row, top 8 CrossResults.com points; 3rd row, Sportif Series pass holders, first 8 Registered; 4th+ rows, date/time of Registration.
Day-of registration incurs an additional $10 fee, except for Junior races (no day-of fee). USAC license required to race; must show at sign in. A one-day USAC licenses ($15), good for all races all day, is available only for Cat 5 Male & Cat 4 Female racers (including Juniors) who have not held a prior USAC license, as per USAC rules. Purchase this at checkout, online at USACycling, or with cash on day of race. Mountain bikes are fine, but no bar end extensions. All day-of reg and fees are cash only.
Sportif Cross Cup Series champs will be decided at this race! Points assigned to each race are determined by Sportif (the finale may carry more points), as are minimum purse payouts for each field across all series races. Directions/parking: Occoquan Regional Park, 9751 Ox Rd, Lorton, VA 22079, is 15 minutes off the Capitol Beltway. NOTE: Google Maps iPhoe App tries to take you on closed roads. The only way into the park is from Ox Road. From I-495, take I-95 South (at Springfield), then Exit 160B, ramp onto 123/Ox Rd, 1.5 mi Right into Park. From points south, take I-95 North, Exit 160B, ramp onto 123/Ox Rd, 1.5 miles, Right into Park. Drive all the way in to the bottom of the park & follow signs/marshalls to the large paved lot on the right. Do not park along entrance road. Team tent parking: follow marshalls directions.
CX is an all-weather sport! Race will be held unless the park itself has to close. In case of cancellation, registrations will be transferred to next year’s event. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must stay on 4-foot leash & be attended to at all times by a responsible adult. No dogs immediately next to the course, please.
