Hyattsville CX is a BikeReg Super 8 Cyclocross Series event.  Timing by Race Works Gruppetto.  Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after each event.  Please remain near the podiums following your race if you place.  Results posting will be announced; the standard 15-minute protest period commences upon posting.

All proceeds from Hyattsville CX benefit Special Olympics, Maryland-Prince George’s County.

Venue:  The race is held at Magruder Park in Hyattsville, MD – the city’s major park facility.  It is located at 40th Avenue and Hamilton St. and covers 32 acres. 

Parking:  Parking is located next to the park in the large lot just off Gallatin St.  Parking will not be allowed in Magruder Park on race day as the Park will be closed to motor vehicle traffic.  Click the 'Contact Event' link above to reach the Race Director for information regarding team tent logistics.

Amenities:  We will have at least two food trucks for the day: Hardy’s BBQ and LA Pearl Belgian Waffles.  The beer garden will feature beer from Franklins, Hyattsville's own microbrewery.  In addition, the race venue is in close proximity to a number of great restaurants on U.S. Route 1 in Hyattsville.  Kids will enjoy the bounce house and the playgrounds. 

Medical/First Aid:  EMT support by Special Events Medical Services.

Racing Age is computed as the rider’s age on Dec. 31st, 2017. 

U19 Men and Women may race in any class they qualify for by Cyclocross category, but remain eligible for the Junior entry fee of $15.  Click the 'Contact Event' link above to request a partial refund.

Licensing:  a USA Cycling racing license is required for entry.  A 1-Day license is valid for entry only in the classes specified.  Riders who have never held a USAC Annual license may purchase a 1-Day license for $10 on race day; if you will need one, please note "ONE DAY" in the license area when you register.   For all other classes, you must present a current USAC Annual license (or a printed Authorization to Ride) showing your Cyclocross category and Racing Age.

Series Points:  series points are awarded for Super 8 Cyclocross Series ranking to all classes except Beginner Men and Beginner Women.  See the BikeReg Super 8 Cyclocross Series website for complete rules and regulations for series points.

Staging:  All riders will be staged in order of their assigned bib number.  For the Beginner Men and Beginner Women classes, all riders will be assigned bibs inn order of the date & time of registration.  For other classes, bib assignments will be made in a 3-step process:  1) the first 4 bibs will be assigned in order of the riders' Super 8 series rankings from 2015; 2) bibs will then be assigned in order of the riders' current overall CrossResults rankings; 3) lastly, any riders who are unranked in CrossResults will be assigned bibs in order of the date & time of registration. 

Staging Procedure:  Riders will fill the starting grid by bib number, 8 riders at a time, as specified in the USA Cycling Cyclocross rulebook when so directed by the officials; the officials will fill any gaps left by DNS or late-arriving riders as appropriate.  ALL RIDERS MUST ASSEMBLE IN THE PRE-STAGING CHUTE NO LATER THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE THEIR START!   Riders arriving late to staging will be staged in the next available row or at the back of the starting grid.
