Venue and Course:
Rockburn Cross is located within Rockburn Branch Park; a multi-use facility situated conveniently off I-95 in the Baltimore/Washington Corridor. The is a playground adjacent to the main course and the Lil Belgian's course. Weather permitting, the Rockburn Skills Park will be open and is a challenge for anyone but can also be an all-ages family activity. There will be a beer garden with offerings from Jailbreak Brewing, burgers and vegetarian fare from Upslide Down Dave.
AFC strives to provide the best CX course in the Mid-Atlantic and those who have raced here would agree it's always a challenge! There are super-fast woods sections, power sections, some(never enough!) downhill recovery, an off-camber roller coaster around the soccer fields, uphills and multiple areas with sand/gravel. It's a course that suits everyone at least part of the time!
Registration:
Online registration at BikeReg.com opens on Sunday, September 24th at 8:00 pm and closes on Thursday, November 9th at 11pm. Onsite registration and sign-in opens at 7:00am and closes 30 minutes prior to each race. All riders who fail to sign in on time forfeit their spot with no refund. Day-of registration is subject to a $10 late fee for adult racers and $5 for juniors(no fee for Lil Belgians). Riders without a USAC annual license must purchase a $10 One-Day License to race and may only compete in Cat 5 eligible events. Fields are limited to 125 total riders on course; kids' races limited to 100 total entries. Races held rain, snow, or shine. No mail-in registration. No refunds.
BikeReg Super Series Rules:
The Event: Rockburn Cross is part of the BikeReg Super Series. The event will be held under USAC permit # pending. Consult the tables below to confirm your race class and category according to your USAC license. All USAC Cyclocross rules apply. Event will be held rain or shine. Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after each event. Please remain near the podiums following your race if you place. The protest period start will be announced and will last for 15 minutes. Below you will find the races available in your USAC category. Racing age for all categories is based upon the rider’s age on Dec. 31st, 2017. Mountain bikes are permitted, but bar-ends are not.
