Course Description:  Our championship course is a classic on the regional road racing calendar, featuring an eleven-mile loop with two major climbs:  a 1.5 mile climb starting gently and then ramping up; and 3/4 mile climb to the finish line, which is 8.3 miles from the start.  For a view of the course (three laps worth!) via Strava, check out https://www.strava.com/segments/10157596

Page Valley is the historic and scenic section of the Shenandoah Valley which lies in between Massanutten and the Blue Ridge.

A rider is eligible to win either the MABRA or VACA championship if USAC records as of the race date show that the rider’s racing club, as printed on his or her license, is a member of MABRA or VACA, or if the address on their USAC license is within the MABRA or VACA geographic boundaries (MABRA Championship Rules are located at: http://www.mabra.org/championship-race--jersey-rules.html, and VACA categories are listed at: http://www.vacycling.org/2017/bar_rules.html).  Riders must also meet USAC eligibility requirements, which include: Championships are open only to riders who hold USA Cycling rider annual licenses.  One day-license holders are not eligible.  Further, championship medals will be awarded only to riders who are eligible, although the race event may include riders who are ineligible for the championship event.  Note that we will be following USAC rules for national championship events, which means that women may not compete in a men's field.

Accomodations:  One of the best options for teams and families can be found with cabin, home rentals, and even camping.  Page County is officially designated the “Cabin Capital of Virginia,” and there are numerous nice places to choose from that are appropriate for both small and large teams and groups, such as River’s Bend Ranch outside Stanley on the Shenandoah River (540-652-1836 or www.riversbendranch.com), which also features horseback riding, hiking, and fishing on the property.  Shenandoah River Outfitters also offers several cabin rentals – find out more about them at http://www.shenandoahriver.com/ or call 540-743-4159.  Also, check out Shenandoah Woods, near the Page Valley Road Race course (http://www.shenandoahwoods.com, or 540-860-1099).  Absolute Perfect Escape (http://www.absoluteperfectescape.net), which rents out many cabins in the area – including the property directly across the street from the Page Valley Cycling Road Race course – is also a good option.  Many other nice options can be found at www.cabincapital.com.  The Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce has useful information at www.luraypage.com.

All of the hotel and motel options in Page County are located in Luray.  The Luray Caverns Motel is owned by our sponsors at Luray Caverns.  Call 888-941-4531 for reservations, though they fill up quickly!   Luray also has the Best Western, 410 West Main Street, Luray, 540-743-6511; and Days Inn, 138 Whispering Hill Road, Luray540-743-4521.  For more high-end accommodations, check out the Mimslyn Inn (http://www.mimslyninn.com or 800-296-5105), which is another one of our sponsors!  Another boutique hotel is the Hotel Laurence at http://www.hotellaurance.com/
