Start line address: Elkridge, MD  21075

Presented by Adventures For the Cure

The 10th annual AFC Sugar Hill XC Mountain Bike race will once again be held at the Avalon Area of Patapsco State Park in Elkridge, MD.  All money made at this event will go towards funding the Extreme Weekend For Children with Diabetes camp for kids and Kupenda for the Children.  There is no rain date for this event!  If we need cancel the race because of weather, we will issue refunds to everyone.

Note that race times are the same as last year with expert races starting in the morning, beginner races after that, and the sport fields going off last.  Thank you for your participation!  We hope you have a blast at our race!!

Packet pick-up/day of registration will be at the Avalon Pavilions near the starting line at 6:45 am. Registration will close 30 minutes prior to the start of each race.  Please arrive early. We recommend arriving 1hr before your scheduled race so that you have enough time to prepare and to pick up your packet/race number.  Note the time of your race!  Race times have been changed from what we've done in previous years so that experts get a fresh course for once and to try to mitigate some parking issues.

There is an entry fee to enter the park so please bring exact change to keep the line to enter short.  The fee is $3 per vehicle for MD residents and $5 per vehicle for out of state.

Parking can be tight so please carpool if you can!

Category Time Changes

Sport and Beginner fields are combined this year and will be on the course at the same time! Please note the time change for those races!

New Junior Categories!

We added junior categories last year for male and female riders between the ages of 13-17 and will have them again this year!  To qualify, you must turn 13 by 12/31/2018 and be under the age of 18 on race day. THIS IS FOR EXPERIENCED RIDERS and will follow the same course as the beginner category. It is highly recommended that riders unsure of their experience level scout out the course ahead of time. Parental signature is required for a junior racer to participate.

Masters Class Qualification
We have added a Masters class for the Beginner, Sport and Elite races again this year!  To qualify for the Masters class, you must turn 40 by 12/31/2018.

Women's Races And The Field Limit

Since the race can sell out quickly, we are reserving 30 spots for female racers. We want to ensure all women that want to race have a chance to sign up regardless of when they register.  If you are trying to register for one of the Female Races and registration is closed please sign up for the wait list and we will make sure you get in the race.

Wait List Protocol
Some categories for this race fill up very quickly so all of them have wait lists. Racers will be moved to the appropriate category in the order they were added to the wait list.

Refunds and Transfers
Refunds will be given if we cancel because of bad weather or trail conditions. We have enabled racers to make their own registration modifications and transfers via BikeReg.

Onsite Bike/Mechanical Support
The Hub will provide free onsite bike/mechanical support to all racers.  You will be able to find them at The Hub tent located near registration.  Stop in and say hi!
