Sportif Cross Cup Series Finale & your CX Nats late-season prep race!
Yes, we're back in Haymarket, VA--just 28 min. from the Beltway. The MORE Beer Garden p/b [BREWER TBA] will be serving it up on the deck of the Pirate Ship--best seat in the house--you can see like 80% of the course! Cash donations benefit MORE's trailbuilding projects. Also on deck: dual DJ/MCs Bill Schiecken & Nate Graham for your listening edification.
Please note: We're really really sorry, but no dogs or other pets (property-owner's rule).
[Tentative]: Pre-Ride the course Saturday 9 Dec, from 1 pm - 3 pm only. Free! but please Pre-Reg so we know numbers. Must hold USAC license (1-day open to Cat5 Men & Cat5 Women w/ no prior license). Must sign waiver on site. Private property, so absolutely no pre-riding at any other time.
New prize purse & runup primes: Equal payouts to Elite and Masters Women and Men, plus new (equal) payouts in Women's & Men's Single Speed. Plus $20 prime for first to ride up the starboard runup (or to attempt, almost get to top, and gracefully or awkwardly slide all the way down) in: Women's & Men's 3/4, and Men's Masters 3/4/5 35+, 45+, & 55/65+.
Course map. The track is 3.0 km with a dirt/gravel dragstrip, rideable off-camber berms, drop-in, the pirate runup plus a brand new one, power grass, and aforementioned wooden obstacles (courtesy Re.Vive Design.Build).
Pre-reg on BikeReg.com; service fee applies. Fees include chip timing by Race Works Gruppetto. The $1 MABRA fee will be collected separately by BikeReg and paid directly to MABRA.
Racing age = racer's age on 31 Dec. 2018 (not '17). 2nd race $20. Additional races $5 (except fun rides). Women may enter Men's fields one Cat down. USAC racing license required. One-day license available only to Cat 5 Women and Cat 5 Men who have not held prior annual license. Day-of reg late fee $10, Juniors $5, except no late fees for racing adult brining racing Junior. Cash only on race day.
Fun Races: All ages, no license required! Fatbike, Tandem, & Anything Goes: $15 for 9+, $5 for 2-8. Sorry, these don't count towards 2nd/add'l race discount. Free Li'l Belgians fun race (age 0-8) on a separate course.
MTBs fine in all fields all day, but no bar-ends. No e-bikes or motors of any kind.
Call-ups: Arrive at Start staging 10 minutes before posted time or lose your spot. Call-up order: Juniors 9-14: Date/time of Reg, w/ rows 1-2 divided evenly among sub-groups. Junior 15-18: Series standings, then CrossResults.com rankings, then date/time of Reg. Cat 5 Men, Cat 4/5 Men, Cat 4/5 Women: Date/time of Reg. All other races: row 1 = top 8 in Sportif standings; row 2 = next 8 in CrossResults.com; row 3+ = Series Pass holders, by date/time of Reg; then all others by date/time of Reg. Starts: Junior categories in combined field start on 6 whistles, each 15-30 seconds apart. Women's races may have 3-5 whistles depending on size of each category. Officials make final decisions on all starts.
Sportif Cross Cup Series Finale! As series finale, BikeneticX is scored with a 1.25x point adjustment, with any decimals rounded to next higher whole point (yes! rounded up to next whole point; because Sportif hates math).
Directions: 6100 Antioch Road, Haymarket, VA 20169. From I-495, I-66 West to Exit 40, Left on US-15, 1st Right on VA-55 West, 0.9 mi 1st Right on Antioch Rd, 1.6 mi Left into Camp Snyder. From western Maryland, take US-15 south to VA-55, then follow the rest.
